The 6th Street General Baptist Church was organized on July 20, 1976 when the former pastor, Roger F. Lee Sr., purchased the property and building.
The purpose of 6th St. General Baptist Church:
- To win people to Christ at home and abroad; and to help in developing them in attaining their highest potential for Christian service.
- To promote Christian education, benevolent enterprises, and other objectives which the association may deem necessary for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
